Earlier Servo Drives were used as a stand-alone components. However, from past a decade, Servo System is composed of four major components including feedback device, controller, motor and drive. The mentioned system also works as an amplifier by amplifying the control system generating from controller and delivering current and voltage to motor. Depending upon the application, variety of servo drives can be built of which the most common one is the torque-mode amplifier.

Working:

The drive works in synchronous with the controller for determining the requirement of motor and sending the required electrical energy to motor to achieve the necessary thing. Feedback device is also known as an encoder that serves the information to the controller (also called as the brain of he system), which is later sent to the drive in the form of voltage. The process of receiving and sending information and signals makes a closed loop.
